About The Brand Marquee

The Brand Marquee is a leading company specialising in brand development and digital marketing. We are committed to creating visually compelling and technically sound websites that enhance our clients’ brand presence. We are looking for an experienced Web Designer and Developer who can both design in Figma and build in Elementor to design, develop, and optimise websites while handling the technical aspects such as DNS management, analytics, SEO, and Google Search Console.

Job Description

We are seeking a Web Designer & Developer who is confident designing in Figma and building in Elementor to join our team at The Brand Marquee. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in designing and building websites with minimal coding, leveraging Elementor to bring beautiful, functional websites to life. You will collaborate with designers and stakeholders to transform design visions into reality using Elementor’s advanced tools and features. In addition, you will be responsible for managing the technical deployment and performance optimisation of the websites. This is a client-facing role: you will work directly with our clients throughout each project, from gathering initial requirements through to presenting designs, launching the site and supporting them after go-live.

Key Responsibilities

  • Elementor Development: Build, develop, and maintain high-quality websites using Elementor, ensuring they are visually appealing, user-friendly, and meet brand guidelines.
  • Elementor Customisation: Leverage Elementor’s extensive customisation features to create bespoke, visually striking websites without heavy coding.
  • Design Implementation: Use your design expertise to create original designs and concepts in Figma, then implement aesthetically pleasing websites aligned with brand standards, focusing on both creativity and user experience.
  • Performance Optimisation: Ensure websites built in Elementor are optimised for speed and performance, with special attention to reducing load times and improving SEO metrics.
  • Technical SEO: Implement on-page SEO best practices, including metadata, schema, and other SEO techniques, while integrating with Google Search Console.
  • DNS Management: Handle Domain Name System (DNS) settings to ensure seamless domain management and site accessibility.
  • Analytics Integration: Configure and manage Google Analytics and other tracking tools to monitor and optimize website performance.
  • Cross-Platform Consistency: Ensure websites maintain functionality and appearance across different browsers, platforms, and devices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with designers, content creators, and other stakeholders to develop websites that are both technically sound and visually stunning.
  • Client Communication: Act as a day-to-day point of contact for clients on website projects, running kick-off and review calls, presenting design concepts and builds, keeping clients updated on progress, and turning their feedback into clear, actionable revisions.
  • Requirements Gathering: Work directly with clients to scope website requirements, advise on the options and trade-offs available to them, and set realistic expectations on what will be delivered and when.
  • Client Handover and Support: Present finished websites to clients, provide training and documentation so they can confidently manage their own content, and respond to post-launch queries and change requests.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with Elementor’s evolving features, as well as the latest trends and best practices in web design and development.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Elementor Mastery: Extensive hands-on experience with Elementor for building, customising, and optimising websites with minimal reliance on coding.
  • Web Development Experience: 3–5 years’ experience (mid-to-senior level) in web development, with a primary focus on building WordPress websites using Elementor.
  • Design Proficiency: Strong background in web design, with an eye for detail and aesthetics, including hands-on proficiency designing in Figma and translating those designs into built websites.
  • Technical Knowledge: Experience with DNS management, SEO best practices, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console.
  • Responsive Design: Strong understanding of responsive and adaptive design principles, ensuring websites function seamlessly on mobile and desktop platforms.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot technical challenges related to Elementor, website performance, DNS, and SEO.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical team members and clients.
  • Client-Facing Experience: Proven experience working directly with clients, including presenting and justifying design decisions, handling feedback constructively, and building trusted working relationships.
  • Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing your work with Elementor, highlighting your skills in developing visually appealing and high-performing websites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SEO Tools: Familiarity with SEO tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Moz.
  • CMS Experience: Experience with other CMS platforms like WordPress (outside of Elementor), Wix, or Squarespace.

Job Type: Full-time

Benefits:

  • Company pension: automatic enrolment into the Company’s workplace pension scheme after three months’ service, with the right to opt out.
  • 30 days’ paid holiday per year, including bank and public holidays, rising by one additional day after one year’s service.
  • Hybrid working, with a minimum of three days per week on-site at our Farnham office or at a client site.
  • Ongoing training and development, including an annual appraisal and an agreed personal development plan.
  • Discretionary support towards relevant professional qualifications, including course and exam fees.
